    Pino Sagliocco

This international music producer, Pino Sagliocco, who made his home on the island is passionate about working in musical shows. He dreams and conjures up projects, but what he likes most of all is the adventure of merging musical styles. His legendary 1992 Barcelona Olympic anthem came out of the epic concert featuring Freddy Mercury and Montserrat Caballé that he put together in 1987 in Ku disco, as part of the ‘Ibiza 92’ programme: “That ‘Barcelona’ anthem they sing together proves you only have to believe in your dreams to make them come true”.

Before and after, a career packed with good experiences, great friends and amazing work. His current production company Live Nation has staged the “Rock in Rio” festival three times in Spain, most recently in Ibiza, yet more proof of his musical mixing skill: Rocktronic Ibiza 1 2 3 Festival, in which rock stars like Sting, Lenny Kravitz and Elton John joined forces with electronic music played by Guetta, Tiësto, Fatboy Slim, 2manydj´s, Luciano, M83... the list goes on. His motto is “make it happen with passion!!”

    How I found Ibiza...

I first came to the island in November 1979 and I’ve got a fantastic relationship with this place, it’s like a lover who you grow to love even more after lots of ups and downs; I adore Ibiza.

    Some of its myriad facets...

All its beautiful places, of course, but especially the beaches and the food, in fact one of my favourite restaurants in Ibiza is Can Balafia.

    A luxury on the island...

Being able to come here to my house on the beach, climb up to Cap des Falcó, and then plunge into that gorgeous sea.

    My favourite moment...

There are lots, I couldn’t put my finger on just one, I’ve got so many beautiful memories of so many places, but that just goes to show Ibiza’s amazing diversity.

A memory when I'm far away...

Ibiza for me is like coming to plug into a power supply, something I miss when I\'m away, as the smog and stress you get in the city is nothing like what life is like on the island. When you arrive and you breathe in this air, you walk around Ses Salines nature reserve, alongside the sea or just stay at home by the fire reading a book, it changes my life.

    The magic of Ibiza...

Its beauty spots, its sunsets, its fields and most of all, the wonderful island hospitality. One of the greatest virtues of Ibiza’s people is that they’ve flung open their doors to the whole world, there haven’t been any taboos on the island, it’s a place where you can be yourself, with no need for formality; I've never worried about what I\'m going to wear to go out tonight, I just hope it stays like this and never changes.

    What I tell my friends...

I always talk to them about the food, the freedom you get here, with no formality to stress you out, but I really make a point of telling them about the beautiful places, the beaches, the sea.
